I got in to Norway yesterday and Rebecca didn’t waste time feeding me delicious food and showing me around her amazing little island that she now calls home!
My camera was already out and on the ready as we strolled into Louise’s and I think that helped me get a little mini-tour of the seafaring-filled restaurant! Somehow my spidey-winey senses turned on and let me know to start wandering back to the dinner table – just as our waitress was pouring us all some red wine! We devoured some local fish soup as well as two platters of fresh seafood…..mmmmmm….
Rebecca’s other two amazing girlfriends flew in this morning. We let them nap while we walked to the grocery store to pick up meal supplies for the week. I was nerdily excited to catch a glimpse of Rebecca’s menu list for the week as we unpacked bags full of fresh veggies once back at her apartment.
With breakfast burritos on the ready, we woke up Lindsay and Jessica and started the morning right with mimosas.
Two bottles of champagne later and bellies full of yummy breakfast burritos, we headed out to museum it up around Oslo.
First up, the Viking Ship Museum.
After seeing ships from 900 AD times I power napped in the car and woke up to a height-ful surprise – the Holmenkollen Ski Jump. I could never see myself trying to go down that thing, but luckily they offer zip line rides in the summer!
And it wouldn’t be a real day in Norway unless you’ve seen a stuffed polar bear! Both days I’ve been here, I’ve come across a stuffed polar bear – I wonder if the tradition will continue during tomorrow’s adventures!
